Baby JC ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Holniss. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what is needed to make Baby JC work — and we never sell your personal data.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address and display name when you sign up.
- Content you create — your journal entries, saved cards, and chat conversations with Baby JC. These are private to your account.
- Approximate location (city only, optional) — used solely to match the Home screen background to your local time of day. You can decline this and the app works fully without it.
- Photo library access (optional) — used only when you choose to save a Bible verse image to your camera roll.
- Subscription status — provided by Apple App Store or Google Play to determine whether you have an active Baby JC+ subscription.
- Usage analytics — anonymized event data (e.g., which screens are visited) to improve the app. We do not log the content of your chats or journal entries.
How we use your information
- To provide the Baby JC features you request (chat, journal, cards, listen, scripture).
- To deliver personalized devotionals and recommendations based on your stated mood and preferences.
- To process subscriptions through Apple or Google.
- To improve the app and fix issues.
Third parties
We use the following third-party services strictly to operate Baby JC: Apple App Store and Google Play (subscriptions), Supabase (secure data storage), OpenAI (powering the Baby JC AI conversation), and RevenueCat (subscription management). Each has its own privacy policy.
Your choices and rights
- You can edit your preferences and delete your account at any time from the Profile screen.
- You can revoke location and photo permissions in your device settings.
- You can request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing babyjc.holniss@gmail.com.
Children
Baby JC is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision.
